Dr. Corena is licensed in California as a Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist. He has many years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in multiple settings. Additionally, he provides supervision to interns and licensed clinicians, conducts parenting classes, and presents workshops on psychological-related issues. This education, training, and experience has provided the foundation for his clinical work: deep understanding of the problem and underlying issues, accurate assessment/diagnosis, and effective treatments using evidence-based practices, e.g. cognitive behavior therapy, EMDR, solution-focused, Trauma-Focused CBT, and structural family therapy.

Dr. Corena has an excellent reputation in the community and an extensive network for referral and collaboration with other professionals for psychiatric evaluations, psychological testing, drug treatment centers, and community-based programs.

Most importantly, due to his own personal experiences of past trauma, extreme adversities, rehabilitation process, and life transformation phases, Dr. Corena can relate to his client’s pain and suffering while providing the support and guidance they need to improve or overcome their distressing situations.
